Interface capture / supplied product imagePunch Monkey
Hit harder. Tighten the body. Skip the setup.
A fast, musical transient shaper for harder attacks, tighter sustain, and controlled impact.
Punch Monkey shapes attack and body without thresholds, ratios, or compressor-style setup. Push drums, percussion, bass, plucks, and recorded loops forward with linked-stereo detection, three focus profiles, optional soft clipping, level-matched auto gain, and a clean dry/wet path.
Watch it move.
Then hear the result.
01 / 02One phenomenon.
Several ways through it.
- Punch control softens or emphasizes attacks across a musical -100% to +100% range
- Body control tightens sustain or brings out weight and decay
- Tight, Natural, and Fat focus modes adapt the detector timing to the source
- Zero-latency soft clipping adds controlled impact without lookahead
- Linked-stereo detection, wet-path auto gain, dry/wet mix, and final output trim
Built for the way
you actually work.
Emphasize the initial hit, pull back boxy sustain, and add soft clipping for denser impact.
Move from rounded to defined attacks while using Body to keep the decay tight or full.
Use linked-stereo detection and parallel mix to reshape busy material without upsetting its image.
Common questions.
How is Punch Monkey different from a compressor?
It is thresholdless: Punch and Body directly shape attack and sustain, so there is no threshold, ratio, or makeup-gain setup.
What do the Focus modes change?
Tight reacts fastest, Natural is the balanced default, and Fat uses slower detector timing for weightier material.
Does it add latency?
No. Punch Monkey is a zero-latency processor with no lookahead or oversampling in version 1.
Which formats and channel layouts are supported?
Version 1 supports stereo VST3 and Audio Unit hosts. It has no sidechain and does not use MIDI.
Can I use it for parallel processing?
Yes. The Mix control crossfades from exact dry at 0% to the shaped wet path at 100%.
